Professional Liability

What is Professional Liability Insurance?

Professional liability insurance is a type of insurance policy that provides protection to professionals against claims or lawsuits made by their clients, customers, or other third parties for damages arising from the professional services they provide.

Also known as errors and omissions (E&O) insurance, professional liability insurance typically covers legal defense costs, settlements, or judgments that may arise from allegations of negligence, errors, or omissions in the course of providing professional services.

This type of insurance is common among professions where mistakes or errors could have significant financial or reputational consequences, such as lawyers, doctors, accountants, architects, engineers, consultants, and other professionals who provide advice or services to clients.
